Barista’s from all over Nashville’s best coffee houses gathered for the first ever latte throw down at Bongo Java in the Omni Hotel Nashville! What a great photo opportunity!
The perfect latte art pour as defined by Wikipedia and I quote:
(Latte art is a method of preparing coffee created by pouring steamed milk into a shot of espresso and resulting in a pattern or design on the surface of the resulting latte. It can also be created or embellished by simply “drawing” in the top layer of foam. Latte art is particularly difficult to create consistently, due to the demanding conditions required of both the espresso shot and milk.[1] This, in turn, is limited by the experience of the barista and quality of the espresso machine. The pour itself then becomes the last challenge for the latte artist.)
By no beans am I a coffee expert (play on words) But what I am is a fan of how it brings people together and makes them smile! Cheers
Many thanks to Brandon Ross for putting on a great show, and to Kellie Keyes of the Omni for bringing the whole thing together with some great sponsors Bongo Java Roasting Company, NATIVE Magazine, Yazoo Brewing Company, Moon Taxi.
