Mark Boughton Photography was featured in this months PDN Objects of Desire Contest. My Spoon Full of Blueberries was chosen as one of the Runners-up. We were very honored to be chosen out of all this years entries. The blueberry image is a part of a New Series that I produced this summer of fruit grown at my studio. Now I have to say the blueberry’s were from my brother house in Knoxville, but keeping with the locally grown theme they were from his backyard. Here at the studio we had bumper crop of Peaches and Blackberry’s, while our 4 year old Fig tree produced a small amount of sweet figs. With so many peaches I even tried my hand at canning. While my first attempt ended up more like peach syrup my second try was perfect. I am looking forward to having peaches this fall and winter. A friend and I were talking about what to do with the peach syrup and she suggested pouring a whole jar over a pork tenderloin. Sounds pretty tasty I will give you update on that one over the winter. You can see more of these images on my website.
Melissa, I just saw your comment about my peach Syrup. Gum Drops I had not thougt of that. Sounds like a groovy idea. The most I have done with it is I used it to marinate some pork chops. That was yummy. We will get together soon for drinks. My next month is going to be a little more flexable.
Have a Great Thanksgiving!
Mark

hi Mark
I loved your spoon with berries photo so much.
I painted part of it on a 24 X24 canvass for my own pleasure.
I feel I should have asked your permission first especially now that someone is interested in purchasing it.
Being a new artist I wasn’t sure what the protocol was in using others photos.
How do you feel about this?
I totally understand if you’re uncomfortable with this and will keep this for my own pleasure.
Thanking you in advance
D McCrimmon.
Hello D, I am sorry for just seeing this comment. First off I would like to see what you painted before rendering an opinion. I am very flattered that you liked my images enough to create a painting by it. I know it’s been a few months but I would love to see the finished product?
Thanks so much,
Mark
Your fruits are so pretty! I would love to hear what you ended up doing with the peach syrup. Have you ever made fresh gum drops with it?
